📅 Thoughts of the Month

November is always my “reset before the reset”. I like to go into December enjoying the festivities, not trying to figure out what I want to do next year. I’ve been clearing space both physically and digitally, getting rid of anything that doesn’t serve me, and thinking more deliberately about how I want 2026 to look.

One thing I’ve realised:
Clutter and open loops drain creativity. One fills your space, the other fills your mind, and both reduce creative bandwidth.

Half finished tasks, files you keep meaning to sort, a messy workspace, they all sit in the background quietly pulling at your attention. When you close them, clean your environment, and clear some digital noise, you create space for better ideas to land.

If you feel creatively stuck, try this (it helped me massively):

  1. Close one open loop today.
Reply to the message you’ve been avoiding. Sort the files on your desktop. Finish one of the many tasks that have been on your to do list for weeks.

  2. Declutter one corner of your space.

You don’t need a full reset, but clearing a few items per day can make a big difference.

  3. Set aside time to think of something you’d like to achieve or do in 2026.

A project, a habit, an idea. Choose it now so you can enjoy Christmas and start 2026 with a plan already in place.

It’s insane how much mental clarity returns when you create room for it.

🎵What I’ve been working on

A lot has been happening behind the scenes. I’ve started a few remixes this month after hearing Sekou - Love Language on the radio. I instantly heard potential in the song and more from his EP to remix, and it’s been really fun to work on.

I’ve also upgraded my studio setup, swapping my old interface for the Audient iD4 and picking up the Kali LP6 v2 Monitors. The jump in sound quality has been HUGE. For the first time I feel like I’m hearing what’s actually there, and I’m hoping that translates into better mixes going forward.

💾 New Tools & Creative Fuel

Plugins:
U-he Diva - Picked this up in the Black Friday sales and I’m buzzing to dig into it properly. Already feels like the missing link for the warm, retro sounds I’ve been wanting in my tracks.

Podcast:
Modern Wisdom - Jon Bellion - The Art of an Authentic Comeback
Great podcast where Jon speaks about art, identity, reinvention, and learning to make work you actually care about again. If you’re a creative in any lane it’s worth your time.

TV:
Stranger Things - Everyone has waited so long for the return of Stranger Things. I’m one episode away from finishing this batch of episodes and can’t wait to see how it all ends.

💭 Creative Insight

We become creative when we ship the work.” - Seth Godin (The Practice)

After looking back on my year, this quote hit hard. I finished multiple songs in 2025 and worked on a lot of projects, but none of them have made it out into the world yet. I’ve levelled up my production, songwriting and arrangement massively, but growth no one hears is growth no one knows about.

That’s one of the biggest changes I need to make in 2026:

Consistently releasing music I’m proud of.

Creativity counts when it’s shipped, shared and experienced by someone other than yourself. If you’re sitting on work of your own, music, writing or anything else, then consider this your nudge: 2026 can be the year you stop polishing and start publishing.

💿 Playlist Picks

Here are a few tracks that have been on heavy rotation for me this month. You can find these and many more on my monthly playlist Line In with Lexton.

  • Boy Amor, Gwen Bunn - Money, Money

Boy Amor doesn’t miss. Every release has ended up on my playlists and this one sits right up there with the best of them. It’s high energy, feel good music — the kind you want to replay. If he’s not on your radar already, start here.

  • Sekou - Catching Bodies

I stumbled into Sekou’s work after hearing Love Language on the radio and ended up listening to the full EP front to back. Strongly recommend you do the same. I've actually started remixing a couple of the tracks from the EP too, so keep an eye on my socials, they’ll be dropping soon…

  • Madeon - Car Crash Baby

Excited as ever to see the new era Madeon is building. I love the contrasting halves between dark and light, and I still can’t decide which side hits harder! Either way, it’s a great track and I can’t wait for the album to drop.

✉️ Stay in the Loop

That’s it for this month’s Post Fader. If any of this resonates — whether it's the creative struggle, the breakthroughs, or the music, I’d love to hear from you. Hit reply and let me know what you're working on, stuck on, or excited about. Or…
